Palm Desert, CA – Fashion Week El Paseo tents are up and the thousands of people it draws annually may notice some changes to Palm Desert’s upscale shopping district, starting with the relocation of the event’s landmark “big white tent.”
For the first 10 years, the event occupied a vacant lot on Larkspur Lane. With the high-end shopping district’s first hotel now under construction on that lot, Fashion Week El Paseo moves its tent across the street to the upper level of The Gardens on El Paseo parking structure’s west end.
Ground was broken on November on Hotel Paseo, a 150-room, three-story boutique hotel that should open in time for next year’s Fashion Week.
Local fashion designer Candice Held has timed the opening of her “flagship boutique” on El Paseo with the start of this year's Fashion Week.
“El Paseo has been a dream location for me for a long time,” said Held, who will keep her Palm Springs store open as well. “Being the ‘Rodeo Drive of the Desert,’ it’s a natural choice for my brand.”
