UCR Palm Desert is proud to partner with the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum on lectures, panel discussions, and performances focusing on aspects of Native American history and culture of tribes in the Coachella Valley and other parts of the western United States.

Palm Desert, CA – Tim Tingle is a celebrated Choctaw author and storyteller who will entertain us with readings from his award-winning books. Last year, he was selected to represent the Native voice in the storytelling program at the Library of Congress, and has performed at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
As a storyteller, Tingle brings the lore of the Choctaw Nation to life in vibrant historical, personal and traditional stories. He plays the Native American flute and often accompanies his words with an assortment of gourd rattles and drums.
