Palm Desert, CA – Each year, the United Way of the Desert hosts a gala to raise funds needed for the support programs that provide for our most vulnerable residents. Last year’s 25
th anniversary gala was a success thanks to our generous partners. Once again, we invite our partners to this year’s special movie-themed gala. Shaken, Not Stirred will be held on Friday, May 6th, 2016 at the Ritz-Carlton, Rancho Mirage.
The imperative success of this event is determined greatly by your support and generosity. We hope that you will join us! By offering a unique gift, special item or experience to our Raffle and Auction, you are truly making a difference. In addition to a 100% tax deduction and recognition on marketing collateral, your contribution is an opportunity to build and promote brand recognition among the 300+ high-capacity donors and community leaders attending the event.
About Us: Serving the Coachella Valley for over 70 years, United Way of the Desert is one of the region’s oldest nonprofit organizations. With a focus on education, income and health – the building blocks to a good quality life – we partner with local agencies and programs to help our neighbors in need. Our vision is to advance the common good because every individual deserves the opportunity for a financially stable, healthy life, and every child’s future is determined by the quality education he or she receives today.
The desert is a community of affluence, but beneath the surface, there is great poverty as well- more than 85% of children live in low-income households and lack basic resources. The United Way movement fosters long-lasting change by assisting with critical needs such as food and shelter, while addressing the root causes of poverty in hopes to break the vicious cycle. This Community Impact agenda is what differentiates our work and mission.
Please join us in tackling the disparity. Attached is an acquisition form to complete and return along with your gift. We ask that all items be received by April 8th for appropriate recognition. Thank you for helping to make this a successful event that in turn supports local individuals and families.
